Hi Coastie, the Container crane legs collapsed sending the top carriage forward onto the ship and the cab unfortunately went into the canal.

Hi Coastie,

This happened at the Cawoods Container berth at Ellesmere Port on the Manchester Ship Canal about 1982, sadly the crane driver lost his life when the Container crane collapsed and landed across the ship and the cab went into the canal, the Ship was the Lotte Scheel.

Frank
