This photo highlights the fact that the ships were not identical; of course the easiest way to tell them apart is the grouping of windows around the foreward portion of their Promenade Decks. But notice the difference in their sterns, the deck housing, etc.

EUROPA became the LIBERTE after the War, and was scrapped in 1962. ILE DE FRANCE, of 1927, always kept her name until being scrapped in 1959.

Can't say for sure, but since the ships used to run from Bremerhaven it's very probaly they are pictured there.

Thanks Rich. I knew you'd set me straight. Just couldn't remember the name of the ship she was renamed to.
