European Gateway rebuilt as Flavia at Perama

Bert, here is Patra, and not Perama. She was rebuilt after the European Gateway accident to what you see in the picture. She was later sold to N. Europe, and was bought back from Greeks (Agoudimos Lines) for their Greece-Italy route, renaming her PENELOPE. She later changed to Greek flag, and is used on domestic coastal routes. She is popular with truck drivers, due to the big garage. Many thanks for posting Bert!!

she wasn't popular with this truck driver I used her a few times when storing P&O boats at Piraeus and in bad weather she had a very strange roll I think they had re-built her a bit top heavy. I sailed on her when she was a Townsend Toresen and she was a different ship. Sherloc.

B&I Line once named her as a charter vessel for their Rosslare - Pembroke service. Then her history became clear - charter plans dropped and a different vessel found.

Thank you very much for this excellent photo. There are few photos of her as "Flavia" and one of the best is certainly this one. It seems that this ship found her Ithaka in her second passage from Greece, with the livery of Agoudimos Lines.
