Taken from Nicholas Leach's book:
ON879 was a 35'6" self righting motor boat of which 27 were built. 879 was built in 1950 by Groves and Guttridge and was at Scarborough from 10-1-51 until October 1956. It capsized on service on 8-12-54 and three were lost (not specified whether crew or otherwise). In reserve fleet 1956-1963 and sold in March 1963. You might find out more by looking at the Scarborough website if they have one.
