Would hazard a guess at one of the old Belgian Ostend-Dover ferries 'PRINCE LEOPOLD' springs to midn but, probably way off the mark.

Hi Stumps,

You are right in saying she's an ex Ostender,I would hazard a guess at the Koningin Elizabeth, Reine Astrid or Roi Leopold 111.

'Belgian' was also the first word that sprung to mind when I set eyes on this pic. It's certainly not REINE ASTRID, because she became the jetfoil terminal at Dover!
The other two mentioned by Locking Splice went to Saudi, becoming NAJD (Roi Leopold III) and NAJD II. They were disposed of by RMT in 1978 and were scrapped 1987 and 1984 respectively. So it is one of those, I reckon!

Thanks for that Bobs, I forgot about the Astrid being cut down and berthed on Dover's Admiralty Pier.

Robert's: the reason I am sure it's not the English Channel is because I know these two ships' profiles changed slightly when they were refitted for their Red Sea service and this pic shows that changed profile.
