Fire down below

seem to remember they tried to co2 drench the engine room and it went wrong with the loss of some crew as the engine room was not sealed thus leaking halon...could be wrong though

I wouldn't like to be on that ship if they were mixing CO2 and Halon to fight fires????

A major boiler fire in 1974 destroyed the steam plant. There was no loss of life. Bristol operated for three years using only her gas plant, completing the Sea Dart trials. The steam plant was repaired in 1976.
