FLATHOUSE
A 1546 ton steam coaster built for Stephenson Clarke by Swan, Hunter and Wigham Richardson at their Southwick yard. She was launched on 10 November 1931 and was the last ship to be built at the yard while under the banner of Swan, Hunter. The yard was closed in 1931 and purchased by the National Shipbuilders Security Ltd. and was intended that it be demolished. However in 1942 with the need for extra shipbuilding the yard re-opened and was known as the National Shipbuilding Corporation (Wear) yard. It finally closed in 1947.
Flathouse was sold for scrap and was broken up at Grays beginning 16 February 1961.
