Thanks threebs for another nice photo and a rare one of Fort Mumford as she was only 3 months old and on her
maiden voyage when she was sunk by the Japanese submarine I-27 on 20th March 1943.
She was sunk near the Laccadine Isles West coast of India and sadly there was only one survivor from a crew of 50.
She was built by Prince Rupert DD Co and managed by Reardon Smith Co of Cardiff.
Unusual to see radial davits on a WW2 built ship!
