every friday,calling at and depart.from Southamton in the evening of the same day,and arriving N.Y. the following wednesday morning.

This ship (to me) bears a very striking resemblance to the QE2, if you look at the hull & part of the superstructure and ignore the funnels etc., I see the QE2.
Or is it another "Senior Moment"??????

It all actually stems from NORMANDIE. Look at her focsle and you will see FRANCE.
This was also perpetuated on QE2 where all the mooring gear was under cover so to speak .
