The vessel to the left was in danger of being swamped by heavy seas. I understand that the other vessels in the photograph were responding to a distress call.

The vessel in the foreground is the 'Cornelia Bosma', built 1972 by Suurmeijer, Netherlands.

Casualty looks to be drifting (no wake, broadside to wind), so could be a case of engine failure. Hatches look sound.

sorry eddy, but if you look hard enough there is a wake.she looks to be just making headway with a narrow wake curving to her starboard side.....almost indecernable but still there.

There seems to be a faint wire or cable leading down and away from her starboard bow, would she be on tow? Whence the bow wave and curving wake as she is rounding up into the sea under tow.
