Completed in 1946 by Blyth Drydocks and Shipbuilders as aircraft carrier.
1950 to RNVR Clyde
To Pounds Shipbreakers early seventies
1974 to Gardline Shipping as Harpounds
1975 Rebuilt at Lowestoft by Overy as survey ship
renamed Isis Locater
Renamed Gardline Locater
Fate?

Built as RAF salvage ship H.M.S. Blackburn.
Laid up spring 1997. Have no idea of her fate.

Correct Richie. I think she was called COMMUNICATOR and configured as a radio ship. Scrapped in Lerwick, if I remember correctly.

Phil,

Communicator was another Gardline vessel, Garline Seeker and she was scrapped in Orkney.

She was broken up at Singapore in August 97.

Other ships I sailed on with Gardline were, Endurer, and the Tracker 1978/9. I may have photos somewhere. will add to gallery if I find them. teura.
