Kyrenia, just found this one in my box of slides, taken the same day as my Glenalmond "sunset" photo. Thought it might help you identify the berth, with your memory and knowledge of the area at that time.

Mike, yes. this is 14 berth KGV. Glen Line loading berth. On the left is the dry-dock and ship repair buildings. Ahead, on the right is Drew Road School (where my brother went) and at that time "adopted" as their school ship the GLENORCHY.
Cheers, John.

Kyrenia, is this photo the wrong way round then? i.e. should it show us port side alongside the cranes? Which side of KG V was No. 14 berth, north or south? I can't remember. An age thing !!

I had just reached the same conclusion Mike.
Even numbers were on the south side of KGV, so this photo is a mirror image.
The key is 'slide'. Easy to view from the wrong side.

Thanks everyone for the info. This looks better now. Checked on Google earth too, and saw that the south wall of KG V more or less lines up with Drew Road. Rgds Mike .......ADMIN: have tried flipping it horizontally in the photo editor and it seemed to work but when I check the gallery, it hasn't. Could you flip it ? ....to make it port side against the cranes. Tks.

Takes a little while to register the flip Mike. Cannot remember what the original was like but is it ok now?
