Outboard ship is a Kin Class most likely KINLOSS.

Thanks. May not be Malta either. I was misled because it was in with some photos taken in Suez in 1956, and the late owner was involved with the clearing of the canal, and was in charge of Med salvage in the 50s.

Could be Gib, the Kinloss was out there in the early seventies on a job, she was Dover based at that time and had a few local crew on her.

Goldeneye and Kinloss or any other vessel of the Kin class were never visited Malta together.

Rmas Kinloss was based at HM Naval Base Rosyth approx 1974-78 she was then up for disposal and scraped in wards inverkiething fife. Kinloss was replaced by RMAS Uplifter.

Looks like RMAS Kinloss alongside before the days of health and safety and hard hats.

I think you'll find Kinloss continued at HM Naval Dockyard Chatham after Dover. I joined her in 1979 and served on her until 1982.

Other Mooring and Salvage Vessels at that time, Goosander & Uplifter @ Rosythe, Pochard, Mandarin & Kingarth @ Greenock, Pintail @ Devonport, Kinbrace @ Portland, Goldeneye @ Portsmouth, Garganey @ Pembroke Dock, and of course Kinloss @ Chatham.
