GOLDFINCH

The GOLDFINCH of 1937 (General Steam Navigation Company) aground in dense fog at Flushing on 15th May 1952. She was on passage from London to Ghent with general cargo. Later that day she could be refloated.

"Goldfinch" took part in evacuation of troops from N French ports after Dunkirk. At St Valery hit by shell fire with casualties. Rescued 500 troops from beaches.
