"Goliath" lining up (3).

Lined up and passing through the Glebe Island Bridge into Johnson's Bay - "Goliath" was purpose-built for her trade and had bow and stern thrusters with a single rudder and screw. As I recall, the clear width in this bridge was 0.9 metre greater than the vessel's extreme breadth. Container ship on left is Asia Australia Express' "Asian Jade" (1978/21121 grt) at the Glebe Island Container Terminal.

Doug -

Can't put an exact date on it - I was in her from new to the beginning of 1984 - but she has the catwalk fitted from the compressor room top to the forecastle head and that was a retrofit, so it's possibly 1979.
