There are two mysteries. Firstly I cannot trace your GROSFIELD in Miramar Index. Secondly I have a very similar photo of a Zillah vessel named "COPSEFIELD". I cannot trace that one in Miramar either!

What I CAN trace in Miramar is the 1922 vessel GORSEFIELD. This is very similar to both our photos but with no wheelhouse and a taller funnel. I suspect neither GROSFIELD nor COPSEFIELD ever existed and both are in fact GORSEFIELD.

Cheers, Geoff

Robert and Geoff;
The ship is GORSEFIELD_1922 owned by "The Savages of Liverpool". She later received the wheelhouse on the Bridge, and appears to have had her funnel shortened to boot.

Correct Rory, GORSEFIELD (147177) another Lytham built vessel from 1922. Never heard of a COPSEFIELD in Savage ownership.
Gil.
