Great Lakes Locks

First passage is interesting. When you doing this from time to time is just lots, lots of work.

Great shot captain_mzc. Brings back memories of trip i did up there in 1971. One of the best trips i did going through the Lakes. Fantastic scenery all way through St. Lawrence river. Thanks Dave

Hi Dave,

I did this passage few times, some to Detroit and Chicago, some to Tunder Bay. Lovely scenery that's true. The last outbound passage during night time I will remember for a long time.

Great shot. I did fantasise about the lock gates bursting sometimes when looking far down as here.
Great scenery yes. And lots of overtime as said, but as I remember it, it was easy overtime much of it: sleeping in your working clothes on "standby" while waiting for a lock, or a one way convoi to pass. At least in the night time, us Norwegians were not allowed to idle in the daytime, not while there was as much rust about as on this one:). Stein.
