As I've said before I'm no art critic but I reckon this lady's paintings capture the sea and the atmosphere better than anything I've ever seen before......absolutely brilliant series.

Photographs they ain't Wully. These paintings are on large (to me) 3ft.X 2ft. canvas. Jenny (the artist) uses photo's and plans of ships for reference, with advice from a retired Icelandic waters skipper. She has been to sea before (pleasure trip) on fishing boats but, got nowhere near Iceland. The compositions are entirely her own.

Hi Wully, the images posted here don't do justice so, I'll email some higher res. photos.

This lady, Jenny, is top draw. Her work is exhibited in galleries. She is totally immersed with the sea and, I think it shows in her work. Just look at the hand rails (on 'Hauling the Trawl') there's even water droplets on their underside. The detail and technical accuracy she includes is amazing.

Regards

No probs Wully, my first reaction was 'Is that a photo?' I've posted that enlarged image on here, of the Coldstreamer 'Hauling the Trawl', to show the amount of detail apparent. The effect still falls way below what can be seen 'in the flesh' so to speak.

I'm hoping to get some more photos of her other works. I'll keep you posted!
