Hamburg, "Hansa Hafen". Photo taken somewhere between 1890 and 1905. The steamer seems to be named Totmes. DDG Kosmos had black funnels and two steamers with that name within the time span. Totmes 1 built by Reiherstieg Schiffswerfte & Maschinenfabrik, Hamburg, 1898 sold to Rob M. Sloman & Co., Hamburg renamed Neapel, 1911 missing at sea.
Totmes 2 built by Charles Connell & Co. Ltd., Glasgow, ex- Banda built for Hamburg Calcutta Linie ( A. Kirsten), Hamburg, 1898 purchased from Hamburg Pacific Dampfschiff Linie (A. Kirsten), Hamburg not renamed, 1900 renamed Totmes, 1904 sold to Hapag, Hamburg not renamed, 1905 renamed Caledonia, 1912 sold to Wm. Eisenach, Stettin, renamed Wm. Eisenach, 1915 sold to Hafenbetriebsgesellschaft Chile, Bremen renamed ****, 1919 ceded to Great Britain not renamed, 1922 scrapped.
