Thank you for publishing such a very fine Swedish ship here! I appreciate it as a Swede! Kungsholmen is a part of the city of Stockholm, the capital of Sweden and the capital of economy in Scandinavia, where the large Stockholm city hall house is situated, well-known as therer are the large parties and dinners held for the Nobel Prizes every 10 December. Kungsholmen is also the city community with the highest age average of any population in the world, nowheer there are more healthy people aged both 90 and 100 as on Kungsholmen, by the way... as a background on the ship's name...

And I thought she was a Scottish ship, built by John Brown, Clydebank! Wonderful picture. Many thanks, Emmanuel! Donald

Nope, she's actually of Dutch birth, built by De Schelde, Flushing, Netherlands, in service 1953. The next KUNGSHOLM, of 1966, was built at John Brown.
