Harvest gold was said to be 49 foot 11inches to be under some rule for fishing inside ground in Shetland when built (possibly sandeeel fishery) but I can't confirm this as it was only pierhead talk in Stromness when she was being fitted out. She was the first of Halmatic Orkney's big ones and fitted out at Pia Anderson's yard at Stromness. I think Amazon 54' was originally called George Weatherill and probably towed south with wheelhouse on and engine possibly in to be completed at Whitby. However this was about 1972 so memory is not exact!!! There was another 50+ Hull(White) fitted out as a yacht for one of the London Boat shows I recall but whether this was before the fishing boats or not I'm not sure and I think a third sold somewhere else for fishin boat fit out. Davie Reid ex of "Bountiful" & "Norsemans Bride" latterly involved in Admiralty Hydrographic Survey work out of Ramsgate bought the "Pod" used to mould these boats and towed it to Finstown in Orkney where it became a talking point as the roof of one of a considerable group of Holiday Chalets operated by the Reid family to this day.
