Spot on - I was living in Belfast and working at Harlands, for G&J Weir and...the Helix, Verconnella, Vericella & Vibex were all scheduled to Drydock at Harlands - we stripped all the pumps and overhauled the Rotating Elements - replaced Packing Riings, Eye Bushes and where necessary - Turbine Wheels - they used to go back to Glasgow for reblading. Weir's 10 ton truck was a regular traveller, as was the driver, on ferries from Stranraer / Larne on the Cathcart, Belfast, Cathcart run 3 times a week. He used to arrive at Harlands at 03.00hrs just in time for our dinner break - when we worked night shifts
Great ships to work on

Helix - Halia or where built what the hell.....when you are at sea working in the engine room one only curses the builders and the machinery manufacturers anyway......because you have to make the dam things work if they breakdown - that is why we engineers are worth our weight in gold shoreside as we can make things and repair things with and out of **** all........yhere is no AA or RAC in the Atlantic or Pacific Oceans.
While I am on a roll......I always have a laugh at the sexbooze cruisers (Cruise Brigade) who probably have not seen the inside of an Engine Room or even worked on a ship suddenly are "experts" on all things nautical.....Ha Ha Ha...keep them coming......
