No doubt members of todays Canadian Armed Forces (Navy), (no longer the RCN) are proud as all get out of their uniforms, even tho they dont look like the Brit RN any more.
From what I hear, their uniforms are practical and one heck of a lot better to work in than the RN look alike.

Well! the uniforms pictured in this nostalgic shot, were never worked in. No.8s was the working rig and these guys are in half blues for leaving harbour. I was alongside a RCN frigate in Pearl not long after the horrible green bus conductor uniform was introduced and they all to a man detested it. Getting rid of rum, changing uniforms, God forbid, what a bunch of mamby pambys running the navy these days.

Those bottle green dog-catcher suits cost the Canadian Forces a good percentage of their experienced members and a good number of officers as well.
Over the past 15-20 years they are getting back to individual service uniforms and sanity is once again rearing its head in those Commands well away from Ottawa.
But, with Forces HQ being in Ottawa, one of the few cities in the world populated almost exclusively by politicians, government employees and civil servants, where Forces plans and mandate change with the current political vote catching policy of the day, complete idiocy is but a hissy-fit away from reality.
