Pehaps Canada should buy the Ark, they seem to have a defense budget to run her these days, She would compliment the Naval line up quite nicely.

Just dont let her sit around for too long like the Subs!

Isn't that around the time when that idiot David Cameron visited her and told them what a wonderful job they were doing and that the country owed them a debt, then a few weeks later she was doomed

Very sad to see the scaling down of the RN, but many members just seem to blame the current government for trying to reduce expenditure (including defence) to better suit our current, much reduced wealth as a second/third division nation in the world. Surely a labour government would be forced to do the same?
It seems crazy to continue with building two/one ( operational) aircraft carrier(s) that we simply cannot afford - far too great a percentage of the budget in just one hull! - especially when existing modern ships like Albion are being mothballed and Largs Bay sold. Perhaps one of the RN or RFA members can explain why the RN has not chosen to have fleet based on helicopter carriers and assault ships plus subs of course - so that the RN can at least have proper strength (fleet numbers) in one area to augment a NATO Force.

Waiwera, I think your thoughts are not only shared with many people on this site, but also most of the guys serving in the RN. Lets just hope the carriers are put to good use, and we dont get bitten in the ****.
