Before my time Jim, but a nice painting.
Hard to believe there is such a lot of detail, as 6" x 5" is really quite small.
Out of interest, have you ever done any miniatures?

Hi Donald, I haven't tried miniatures, I can rreading somewhere the size a painting must be to be a miniature, but can't remember what it is.
I'm struggling a bit at the moment as my favorite 'skinny' brush is on it's way out,so I'll have to break in a new one.
Regards Jim

Nice one Jim. I was looking at a photo of Bermuda only the other day. We, (1st DS) sailed with her when we were escorting the Royal Yacht. They looked quite tough, especially when you had run out of Battleships. I know the missile subs had more fire power, but they don't look half as intimidating as having a line of big guns pointing at you !
Sorry about the brush. You do get attached to certain tools don't you, RIP.

Thanks for the commiserations Tony, yes I like Cruisers too, my favorite is the Town Class. Glasgow, Southanpton etc.
Donald, I looked up miniatures in the Wet Canvas Site, they have a thread there, 3.5" X 2.5", so I'll have a go at one.

Got my wires crossed there a bit Jim it was a NATO ex we were with Bermuda and the Lion was with us with the Royal yacht. She didn't look quite so imposing as she only had twin 6" turrets, albeit modern automatic mountings. When they converted Tiger and Blake to helicopter ships they became downright ugly.
You will have to do a head on for the miniature Jim, otherwise they will hang off the ends :))

Served aboard her in 1958/60 although she had her bridge enclosed and the floats removed, one of my favourite ships--finally went to Peru in 1960 and served that navy until 1983/4
