Paying off pendant---must have been on her way home from Korean waters---served aboard her in 1958/60 until she was sold to Peru where she served that navy until the early 80s then later scrapped

After this photo, I understand that she arrived back at Portsmouth 1 October 1954 for a long refit, which was completed 31 August 1956. She was then re-commissioned on 11 September 1956.

A very interesting photograph. The forward funnel appears to be blanked / covered off, suggesting forward boilers out of commission? I don't think I have ever seen a warship in this configuration before. Although in the post war years many ships remained in commission on active service with cocooned weapons and fire control, I never saw the engineering semi shut down. I would love to know the story behind this unique arrangement.
