Supermarine Seafire, living up to its name literally! Not a lot of panic about the fire by the looks oif it.

But is it a Seafire.......Seafires (as I had always believed) had clipped wings???

I think it was the original version of the Seafire which did not have folding wings and were 'clipped' to allow access to the lifts. Later versions (Mk 3 and after) had two folds in each wing - you can see the 'crease' of the outer fold just next to the port aileron.

Looks like a later mark of Seafire, which had only one fold line in each wing, inboard of the aileron. The earlier ones had a fold well out towards the wingtip, outboard of the ailerons, and another just inboard of the cannon.
