HMS Manchester

That's a bit risky, a ship called Manchester in Liverpool!

They are good looking ships now, but back then they had especially clean lines, very sleek looking.

Manchester was one of our escorts during the Armilla days, nice ship and welcome company, other ship was the Beaver if I recall correctly, they put on a good show of racing each other up either side of the convoy from a standing start, after a VLCC's acceleration - or lack of, it was a very impressive show.

i played football for Beaver FC at Plymouth, but they had no allegiance with the ship!!!!!
