Many thanks for sharing the photo. Yes, she was built 1960 in Hamburg Finkenwerder at the August Pahl yard. I believe I was there for the launch, but too small at the time to take records. She was part of a series of 3 ships for Hamburg-Sued, the other two named initially Cap Castillo and Cap Delgado. When I remember it correctly (and I hope I don't put rumours in the world!), there was a short article about her (the Cap Bonavista) in our local news in the late 60s/early 70s: after encountering engine problems, the crew attempted to sail here out of trouble (I recall the newspaper picture of a significant freighter with the tarpaulin hanging from the crane). She was broken up in 1984, according to the Auckland vessel movements.
