I was there in 1943 in Cape Howe.At Halifax we loaded Army tanks in the bottom
of the holds then grain was loaded over them.
When No 3 was full we spread a tarpaulin over the grain and 200 bags of mail was
thrown on to the tarpaulin.
Arriving Millwall dock we opened No 3 - all the bags and tarpaulin had disappeared
into the grain from the constant rolling of the ship.
