I wonder if it was this one Jean Gabin was the captain of in ''Remorques'', I seem to rember that front end... The movie was made after this photo was published.

That brings back memories! When I was young, my parents bought me a big illustrated book of ships. There was a page or so depicting tugs across the years and one of them was Iroise, at exactly this angle. I wonder if the artist used this photo as the basis for the illustration. One of the other tugs was Jean Bart, later renamed Utrecht, and there were a couple of harbour tugs. Inspirational book for a youngster whose Dad was Master of a tug and whose older brother was 2nd Engineer on the local cross channel ferries!
