This is from a BHP fleet public relations booklet from the 1960s. These two were the last bulk carriers built with bridge amidships. Built as NAESS CLIPPER in 1961 and NAESS CAVALIER in 1962 by Mitsubishi Zosen, Nagasaki. Also, the first motor ships in BHP fleet. In 1969 their loadlines was altered

As I noted on photo of Iron Cavalier , spent 16 months on board Naess
Cavalier '64-'65 running iron ore Chile / Japan. 3rd trip apprentice.
She was indeed a good ship.
Had a seperate ballast pumproom amidships and that was our job during
loading and discharging,
