Iron Knob

1921 Launched on the 17th December 1921 as the Euwarra from the Port Adelaide yard of Poole & Steel.

She was 100.9 mtrs in length with a beam of 14.6 and Grt 3349

1923 Acquired by B.H.P. and renamed Iron Knob.

1955 Sold and renamed Clarisse

1957 on the 15th July she foundered in

sailed on her plus three of her sister ships,they all carried a trisail and staysail sail, we once rigged thetrisail alongside the wharf in port adelaide much to the amusement of a barron boat laying opposite.regards frank.

I saw them at different times as a kid Frank, little did I know I would be in a few of the older ones myself down the track. I was too young for the E class but I did make it to a few of the chieftain class. Some of the E class were built just a few hundred metres from where my daughter lives now at Osborne Port Adelaide Sth Australia. about a half a kilometre from the new ship building and sub base on the port river.
