Jacktar in Halifax

Jacktar in Halifax

This jolly animated figure of an 18th century naval sailor is a symbol of the hospitality of Halifax, Nova Scotia.
He symbolises a member of the “Press Gang” and is situated in the Halifax Board of Trade, welcoming visitors to the historic Port of Halifax.

This photo/quotes is from a postcard that I bought in Halifax in 1968.

Do any of our members know if he is still there?

Cheers Frank
