Another brillant watercolour from the late American artist Carl Evers. A master of the medium.

I think this Lykes steamer had better give a double ring FULL ASTERN. He is about to come straaight into St Marc's Square!

James Lykes was one of sixteen "Gulf Pride" class cargo ships (Maritime Commission design C3-S-37a) built for Lykes Lines during the early 1960s. James Lykes was among ones that were subsequently stretched.
