James Watt Dock Greenock regeneration

James Watt Dock Greenock regeneration

This is from the Inverclyde Now site and is a CGI of what the James Watt Dock in Greenock could look like after the multi million regeneration takes place.
The view is looking towards Glasgow upriver. The dock entrance is to the lower right with the Garvel Drydock to the left. This will probably continue as a working drydock so I don't know what the residents of the flats to the left of that again will think. These are on the site of George Brown's yard and the area was known as Siberia......

Indeed, Jim. I think that must rank as the most ridiculous place ever to position houses.

The Garvel Drydock has just been fitted with new gates so should continue working hopefully. Glasgow Harbour residents were trying to get noise limitations on the Govan shipyard at one time but I think were told to leave it- major warship building yard etc, etc so we'll see what happens at Garvel.
Serco Denholm and the Svitzer tugs are supposed to be going up to the Great Harbour but that figures in the redevelopment also.
