Why oh why have all these beautiful ships been broken up? I reckon they should empty all the marinas of the world of the "plastic fantastic toys" and fill them with some of these old masterpieces

Her last British Transport Commission revenue voyage was in 1964. Sold off the following year as one of the infamous Dr Beeching's cuts.

Such a pity her preservation was not successful.Would have been a worthy companion for WAVERLEY.

Either her or the Caley paddler CALEDONIA. Both were built like brick ****houses. They would have lasted years and been better suited that WAVERLEY for Western Isles and other exposed waters.

Nice photo,
Coming from Clyde coast, As kidswe used to play around the decks and chase each other all over on this one. Never thinking they would pass into history. Nice memories. Thanks for sharing Rob.
