In the gallery you can find several photos of the Johannishus after a collision with the freighter BUCCANEER. The damage was enormous, but the ship survived and was repaired at the RDM yard. Here her appearance 'as new' after the repairs.

Built in 1952 by Kockums Mekaniska Verkstad AB Malmö Sweden as " JOHANNISHUS " for Trelleborg Ångfartyg AB Trelleborg Sweden.

Tonnage : grt / nrt / tdw - 10.788 / 6.225 / 15.200.
Main Engine : Kockums MAN 7 Cyl - 6.950 bhp

On June 9th 1955 in the English Channel - while on voyage from Sidon to Bremen with crude oil - the tanker "Johannishus" was rammed by the Panamanian steamship "Buccaneer". The "Johannishus" caught fire and was heavily damaged, 19 of her crew members were lost. She was towed to the Rotterdamsche Droogdok Maatschappij in Rotterdam for repairs. After 11 months of repair, the ship returned to service in May 1956.

1964: Sold to Montana Shipping Co. Inc., Panama City Panama.
1965: Rebuilt at Yokohama to a bulk carrier and renamed "Juney Log".
1970: Sold to Interunion Shipping Co. S.A., Panama City Panama,renamed " SIRENA ".
1972: On August 20th run aground on Moroccan coast. During salvage attempts caught fire in engine-room and heavily damaged.

1972: On September 15th arrived in La Spezia to be broken up.

The Juney Log was operated by International Maritime Corporation of Hong Kong, mostly carrying logs from the US/Canada west coast to Japan. The midship superstructure was placed on top of the aft ss.
