Water colour of the Hull trawler JOSEPH CONRAD built for the Newington Steam Trawling Company in 1958 at Beverley by Cook, Welton and Gemmell. Scrapped in October 1980. The last steam trawler to be built for Hull.

Had a record trip from Greenland in 59 i think made over 18000 Pound a record which was unbeaten for many years but had also a lot of damage on that trip because of bad weather when homeward bound. Skipper was Bernard Stipetic a man used to set records
also after this one in other Hull trawlers especially in the Norwegian Coast spring fishing.
Powered by a triple expansion engine with exhaust steam turbine.
