Built in 1976 as R.S.IXION by Kurushima Dockyard Co Ltd at Hashihama, Japan. (Yard No. 970) for R.S. Class Container Line. She was launched as R.S.ONE, renamed after launching.

Machinery: One Mitsubishi 6 Cylinder two stroke engine developing 3825 bhp at 218rpm. Directly coupled to a 4 bladed propeller.

He ship was equipped with side loaders which discharge 20 and 40 foot containers from the deck and the two holds onto the quayside using a bow ramp which is situated in the centre of the split forecastle.
