Very interesting photo from the Dudinka - the outer port of Norilsk, one of the world's richest and largest metallurgical fields and plants in the enormous Siberian river Ob mouth. Many of these fine diesel-electric ice-breakers were built in various versions for USSR, Finland, Sweden and others for decades, and served efficiently for decades.

I guess the most correct transcription of the ship name here is VORNIN as the Russian has no "W" - only Polish has chosen to use the "w" -instead of "v"- among the Slavic langauges - however the sound value is always the same: "v".
