Looking at the hills and the entrance into the river could it be down the west coast

Kawerau shoould be one of the Tasman traders yet the photo gives me some intertesting options, like Greymouth, or, even Wellington tooking towards the Hutt. Well it could have been 50 or so years back. Interesting to see the responces.

Looks like Westport, not Greymouth as originally stated.

I was R/O on the Kawerau in 1971 (I think) when we took a load of Gypsum from Thevenard into Westport, and a load of coal out to Portland. I think we were the largest vessel in Westport (abut 3400 grt) in about 30 years.
Are you sure that is the Kawerau? It looks like Westport.

while i was in her she was running to westport for awhile and at the time i think she was the largest ship to go into westport many of her class went there but i think she was the first cheers duncan
