Derek -
Thanks for the link. I love his style. I will be doing a series of prints from some of my liner paintings shortly. I just finished a 28 painting series for Titanic's 100th anniversary (currently on display at a local museum thru July). Heres ar link for you: http://www.titanic-store.com/ Check it out.

Lovely painting, Derek. Many thanks for posting. HAVE JUST LOOKED AT MIKE'S SEQUENCE - AND IT'S SPLENDID! Well done, Mike! Thank you very much for the link. I am also enjoying Simon Fisher's fine album of his work, including superb 'Titanic' paintings. Donald.

I have two books of John Batchelor's work in my library - '100 Historic Ships in Full Colour' (Dover Publications, New York, 2002) and (with Christopher Chant), 'The Complete Encyclopedia of Steamships: Merchant Steamships 1798-2006' (Rebo Publishers, 2007). The title of the latter is misleading at various levels; it is not 'complete', nor is it concerned solely with 'steamships'! However, it is a beautiful book, with various Batchelor paintings, including his characteristic cut-aways. This image of the 'Kungsholm' is on p. 118. Batchelor also published a series of 24 'Ocean Liners Paintings Cards'. I think I remember some of his work in 'The Eagle' - that wonderful boys' paper of my boyhood! All the best, Donald.
