O.N. 81318. 2,148g. 1,391n. 321.5 x 34.3 x 26.0 feet.
C.2-cyl. (24½" & 56" x 52") engine (No. 254), by the (shipbuilder’s) Greenock Foundry Company, Greenock. 777 IHP. 10 kts.
18.6.1879: Ordered from Scott & Company, Greenock (Yard No. 191) for the Ocean Steamship Company.
2.12.1879: Launched by Mrs C. Mumme.
13.12.1879: Completed at a cost of £37,542.
5.1.1880: Delivered. 11.1894: Transferred to Nederlandse Stoomvaart Maatschappij “Oceaan” N.V., Amsterdam.
10.1901: Transferred to the Ocean Steamship Company Ltd.
1903: Sold to Li Shek Pang, Hong Kong.
1910: Sold to Hung Hing Steamship Company, (Wo Fat Sing Ltd., managers), Hong Kong.
15.12.1917: Whilst on a ballast voyage from Penang to Philadelphia, sank following a collision near Pulo Pisang, in the Straits of Malacca.

I doubt it, Julian. Alfred Holt was a marine engineer and dedicated to high tech propulsion: steam, oil and hybrid engines!
