Liberty ship Sieur Duluth

SIEUR DULUTH

This Liberty ship was built in the Permanente Metals Corporation Yard No2 and although laid down as Sieur Duluth she was completed in February 1943 as Tungus, as shown, and went on Lease-lend terms to USSR. Her funnel had a make-over at some time but I know nothing about her time in USSR until she was reported scrapped in 1970.

Great picture, Stuart.
Usually, no matter what type facelift, you can tell a Liberty from afar, but not this one. All she needed was a rounded superstructure front to complete the picture.
She has six boats and probably would have accommodation for a fair number of passengers--they must have been stacked like cordwood.
