Dom - is the photograph complete as shown, or is there more, as I would like to download it, with yoour permission, for my ATL collection. Meanwhile, I'll contact Jonathan Kinghorn for him to identify the ship. Signalman.

From the pictures posted by Stein and linerrich here

http://www.shipsnostalgia.com/gallery/search.php?searchid=214299

and from a couple of good photos I have in a book, this looks like Minnetonka. There are one or two differences in the bridge area and the promenade decks between the two ships.

Could be either of the post-war Minnes. There were minor differences between them (Minnetonka had a slightly greater tonnage) but I don't know of any external visual clues that enable one to distinguish between them.

JoyceW, you could well be right about this being Minnetonka -- I hadn't noticed the different promenade deck glazing before now.

Window arrangement on promenade deck identifies vessel as Minnetonka. Vessel astern looks like one of Australian Commonwealth Line 1921/22 sisters Esperance/Jervis/ Largs or Moreton Bay?
