Lyra

I've uploaded 3 photos of the mv Sunnyway taken in 1980 under Cargo ships.
I've just looked at this old slide I took in 1973 and this ship looks very similar. Can anyone say it is the same or a sister ship?
The name on this seems to be 4 letters but I'm not sure - almost looks similar to 'Lima'.
The Sunnyway had connections to an Israeli company, I think, and there were signs of a Star of David on the funnel still from previous days. She also had connections with Causeway and Bonnyway and I think there were company connections with these two with the Orli and her sister ships, also connected somehow with Zim.... just in case any of that helps identify this one

In 1973, the ship you photographed as SUNNYWAY was named LYRA.

Thanks - I've just tried scanning the slide at a much higher resolution to see the port of registry but its too blurred. How did you work out the name Lyra?
Have you any other info?

I looked up Sunnyway on http://www.miramarshipindex.org.nz.
It's not what you know that makes you a know-all; it's what you know about where to find out!

Ah! Well that is interesting, thankyou. I recall now, after seeing the miramar site, the original name Besor. The all British complement paid off in Japan on Christmas eve '80 handing over to Mexican owners. Which makes sense when you see its next name Aztlan.
When I took this photo I was on my first trip to sea and not exactly happy being on a passenger ship - I wanted to go to sea on cargo ships and remember seeing them and thinking 'I want to be working there'. So, a bit of a coincidence being on this one a few years later and not realising till 36 years on.
