What a waste that she is being scrapped right now...

A magnificent picture of a beautiful ship and her context - superb. Yes, rd77 - it tells you a lot about the UK and its priorities. Leaving that lovely ship to waste away and meet her doom has been a national disgrace - when a minute fraction of the bankers' wanton spending (and the pensions of some) would have saved her! well, not so minute a fraction I guess. Remember, saving the ROTTERDAM cost the Dutch taxpayer about 240 million Euros...

Far to smart to be coming in for winer lay up. far more likly to be the start of the season and the light is more spring like as well.

Hi rd77, that foto brings back a few memories as I remember the Manxman coming in & out of Ardrossan when I was a wee boy & later on I sailed on the Empress of Canada in 1966.I joined her right where she is lying in this shot.September 66.Davy Thomson Saltcoats.
