There's no notation of the exact date but, based upon the cars, I'd say this must have been taken during the mid 1950s.

The date is May, 1957, and the ship has just been rebuilt from MONTEREY, at Newport News. She was in NY for inaugural festivities, note the lei around her bow. She would soon depart for San Francisco and her new service to Honolulu. Photo by Victor Scrivens.

I can barely remember visiting her in San Pedro, California in 1969 to see my grandparents off to Hawaii. I was however impressed w/the two funnels!

She would have been named LURLINE in 1963 to replace the previous LURLINE. Then in 1970 she became BRITANIS.
