hopefully somebody will satisfy our curiosity, she has a dhan aft, which would say a
seiner, but the framework aft, nah, that has me ravelled, early gutting shelter, for'ard, bonny looking boat, Macduff built.
Was at Eyemouth for many years at the seine net then the prawns, then sold late 1980,s to Grimsby (John Hancock ?) and went long lining, could that set up on the stern be for some kind of auto-line system?
its a shooting table aft if you look carefully you can see the small line anchors on the frame at the starboard side and the two big anchors for his dhan tows the side plates are to stop the lines getting caught as they come out of the tubs.this is indeed when she was long lineing she was rigged like this when she was sold to lowestoft to john "dogger" davis i was with him when he first bought her
hope this helps
Thank you for filling in the gaps, as you say the small line anchors can be seen starboard side, after looking that bit harder. also the bigger anchors. When did John Davis buy her.
Here,s a bit more info on her,1985 Olsen,s has her still owned in Eyemouth (FMA Eyemouth&others Eyemouth.) but no mention when and where she was built.
hi jim
it was the late eighties when dogger bought her she was a good old sea boat and fished the lines very well made some good money in her.
